TRUCK "Imperfections":
- First there are 14 spots of paint damage and imperfections - dings, scratches, and marks. These are all minor and could be cleaned up easily with touch up paint or done professionally for less than $250.
- The cab roof has an impression on it. This could again easily be fixed with a suction tool too "pop" out the impressions. This happened when I had taken the truck to get detailed in the past and the person doing it leaned in too much of the cab roof.
- There is slight surface rust on parts of the undercarriage as the pictures show. This is not major in any way, and basically can be dealt with through a cleaning. See the "Undercarriage" link.
- The steering wheel has 3 cracks in it. These cracks are only on the surface plastic, and do not affert the strength or use of the steering wheel at all.
- The oak wood in the bed could use another coat of varnish to be "show" ready.
- The engine block could use a new coat of orange paint. There are also other little knicks in the engine bay, but this is unavoidable. To be "show" ready a can of spray paint would be enough for the block and engine bay. See the "Engine" link.
- The current electrical system is the old glass fuse style, although I'll include a new wiring harness kit with the purchase of the truck. This kit is ready to install.
- The gauge glass and bezel are not perfect and could use replacement. I actually have an original replacement I will throw in with the truck.
- The way the two 6x9 Pioneer speakers sit behind the seat is not to the level this truck deserves. They just sit behind the seat between the gas tank and the cab rear wall. If I was not selling the truck I would upgrade the speakers and the installation. See the picture above to see what I'm talking about.
I'm including these pictures to be up front as well as to show how close this truck is to be "show quality". As a point of reference, "show quality" truck can sell for as high as $25K to $30K. Even more sometimes. All of these issues are minor, cosmetic and easily taken care of. With a small additional investment of time and money this truck could be your "show-quality" vehicle. I'm really being honest when I say that this truck is truly in excellent shape, and to restore a vehicle to were this one is at right now would cost at least $30,000 (more in Southern California).
